Salon Series - Florida

On April 9, we held the final Exceptional Student Showcase of the season at the home of Maureen and Tim Cotter. We are thankful for everyone who supports us through this series, especially the Cotter's for all they have done for our cause!

The program not only entertains the audience in a personal, intimate setting, but it gives our exceptional young artists a chance to be developed, mentored and supported.

We hope to replicate the series in additional communities to further support the development of young artists. If you or someone you know might be interested to host a similar event, please email Megan@a4ac.org for more information!

On April 9, in addition to cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, guests were treated to performances by exceptional young A4AC Talent. Coaches for the events were Paul Reekie and Terry Barber. Take a look at some of the performers...

BenBen Krieger is a 13-year old actor/singer/musician from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He spent the last couple years performing around the country with three Broadway National Tours. In the summer of 2015, he made his National Tour debut as Theo in the First National Tour of PIPPIN THE MUSICAL. He was 11! Immediately after, Ben began his run with the SOUND OF MUSIC National Tour. He understudied the roles of Kurt and Friedrich during the summer of 2016.  In October 2016, Ben originated the role of Peter Llewelyn Davies in the First National Tour of FINDING NEVERLAND. He took his final bow with the show after ten months in Ft. Lauderdale this past summer. He is now busy being a “regular” 8th grade student in Palm Beach Gardens. He is a budding song writer, guitar-player and has recently added banjo to his repertoire!  Ben was FIRST seen on stage at StarStruck in Peter Pan Jr. in April 2014. He was also honored to play the role of GAVROCHE in the Maltz Jupiter Theatre’s award-winning production of Les Miserables. Ben is thrilled be a part of Artists for a Cause! Aligned with our mission, he recently gave a solo performance to raise funds for a charity. You can see him again this Spring as Eugene in StarStruck’s production of “Brighton Beach Memoirs”!

Emily
Emily Kirschner
is training as a true triple threat. She has studied voice with Palm Beach Opera’s Adriana Zabala and Craig Wich, has studied acting with Broadway legend, Jodie Langel, and is a student of ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop dance. New to Artists for a Cause this season, Emily used her talent to help feed the hungry at “Dance for Food”, and joined Terry Barber’s professional cast for “Les Miserables in Concert” as Cosette. She has performed at many of south Florida’s great venues including the Kravis Center, Wick Theater, Duncan Theater, Harriet Himmel Theater, and Lake Worth Playhouse, and has performed for major public events at Roger Dean Stadium, South Florida Expo Center, and more.

Artists for a Cause supports artists who serve community needs.

Artists for a Cause is a national nonprofit organization that supports artists who serve community needs. Some programs help artists and charities to get the most out of their collaboration, while most produce results directly, by feeding the poor, healing the sick, or solving other problems through unique artistic solutions. Additionally, we never ask artist professionals in a struggling industry to donate or give away their livelihood.  No program is merely about art for arts’ sake –
Artists for a Cause is about the arts as a solution.

We would like to thank the following for their support.
