The Art of Pitching!

Hello A4AC Network!

My personal agent is offering a free webinar called "The Art of Pitching" through iCadenza. Hundreds of artists signed up and they got a lot of positive feedback. The webinar addresses common questions emerging musicians have such as:

•    What should I say in my email to inspire a venue or collaborator to respond and to
        work with me?
•    Is cold calling really worth it (and who should I call)?
•    How can I book concerts consistently so I can make a reliable income?
•    How do I pitch my project to a presenter without being pushy?

I thought you might be interested in this information, so you can sign up for the replay here: http://www.icadenza.com/pitch

Also, in the webinar, Julia mentions a special opportunity to join iCadenza's online program "Be Your Own Agent" and for the first 10 people who signed up, she offered a free individual consultation. Just for members of the Artists for a Cause community, they're extending this offer to anyone who signs up for the program and reaches out to Julia or Jennifer.

So if this is of interest to you, please email jennifer@icadenza.com and she will make sure you get a complimentary coaching session along with your purchase of "Be Your Own Agent."

Again, the webinar on "The Art of Pitching" is totally free and full of great resources so go here to watch the replay: http://www.icadenza.com/pitch

Sincerely,

Terry Barber

About Artists for a Cause

Founded in 2009 by internationally acclaimed countertenor Terry Barber, Artists for a Cause supports artists who serve community needs. No program is merely about art for arts’ sake – Artists for a Cause is about the arts as a solution. A sampling of programs include: Therapeutic Arts which sends the healing power of the arts to children and the elderly; Dance for Food, one-hour professional dance showcases, where the price of admission is a bag of food to help the hungry; A4AC School Clubs which activate community responsible students who use their talent to strengthen communities; and Support for Charities which manages the collaboration between artists and the charities they wish to support. The organization, founded in FL, now has a second location in St. Louis, MO.  For more information visit A4AC.org, like us on Facebook, or call 772-419-8778.

Singing with the Stars - And the Winners Are!

singing-345

Singing with the Stars was an incredible success!   We are overwhelmed by the support we received from the super-talented Star and Professional Singers, the community who attended and our generous sponsors. Congratulations to Christine Jung, resident of Mariner Sands, who took home Top Fundraising and Overall winner awards. The Top Performance award went to Gil Smart and Eileen Walentin.

The winners had formidable but friendly competition from five other community Notables, who were each paired with a professional partner. They included: Lynn Kreps, with Jimmy Paul Choral Director of Jubilate at Jensen Beach High School; Heather Morris, with Shane Thomas; Preethi Sekharan, with Jimmy Paul; and Michael Terrio, with Eileen Walentin. Each and every duo brought a unique style, talent and twist to the show and were awarded special recognition ranging from Most Fun Song Choice, Most Difficult Song Choice, to Most Creative Staging and Fundraising.

We also received wonderful media coverage from the Hometown News and The Stuart News. To read all about the event click here. To see amazing photos taken by Steven Martine in our Facebook album click here

Therapeutic Arts Update

"Thank you once again, for the opportunity to entertain these beautiful people at Grand Oaks, said Jonathan.  "They are always so greatly appreciative."

Jonathan Cummings had another great performance at Grand Oaks on April 6. Activities Director Heather Morris commented that she was going to have to get a bigger room! She had 30 people in attendance, which was a record and a significant increase from last time which was 22 people in attendance which was also a record!

Val Lally continues her watercolor classes and this month instructed residents as they painted an underwater scene with fish, coral and starfish. It was so much fun for all involved!

Artists for a Cause supports artists who serve community needs.

Artists for a Cause is a national nonprofit organization that supports artists who serve community needs. Some programs help artists and charities to get the most out of their collaboration, while most produce results directly, by feeding the poor, healing the sick, or solving other problems through unique artistic solutions. Additionally, we never ask artist professionals in a struggling industry to donate or give away their livelihood.  No program is merely about art for arts’ sake –
Artists for a Cause is about the arts as a solution.
