Did you know nearly 100,000 people on the Treasure Coast and more than 200,000 people in Palm Beach County don’t know where their next meal will come from? About 16% of the residents on the Treasure Coast, which includes Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee counties, struggles with hunger, including nearly 35,000 children. Palm Beach County is not immune either. Hunger impacts families and individuals, seniors, children, and people with disabilities. It affects the homeless as well as working families who were once stable but now need help to survive. Artists for a Cause is doing its part to help fight hunger by producing our eighth annual Dance for Food event series. Dance for Food is a program designed to bring dancers and audiences together to collect food for the hungry. Artistically directed by Anna Preston, the annual Dance for Food events convene many of Florida’s finest contemporary dancers to showcase their talents to an audience. Admission Fee: A bag of unexpired, nonperishable goods Come, be entertained and do your part to end hunger. For more information and to watch a video click here! Back to top | ||

Therapeutic Arts Update Recently, we have booked a number of Therapeutic Arts opportunities! Many of them are at a new facility in Palm City, FL called the Grand Oaks of Palm City. Some of the bookings include: October 27 Jonathan Cummings 2:00 p.m. November 2 Jackie Robbins 1:30 p.m. November 14 Carla Holbrook 3:00 p.m. November 16 Melanie Steinke 3:00 p.m. We've also placed a new artist at the Grand Oaks of Jensen Beach, Hospice and Long Term Care. On October 25, Valerie Lally will bring her talents to The Grand Oaks of Jensen Beach to spread the healing power of visual art with the residents. She will instruct the residents, some of which may not remember how to use paint, in watercolor. Creating art has a way of calming and soothing and bringing memories back to the surface. Residents at The Grand Oaks at Jensen Beach will also be treated to the vocal talents of Mary Murphy on October 23. And Ginger Carslake will add another program in addition to ten-week class at Lynmoore. She will be at Jensen Dunes on November 7 to work with several residents, helping them to create visual art in a therapeutic environment. She instructs them in water color and guides them creatively so they can benefit from the positive and healing effects of creating art. For a full listing of our upcoming events click here!
