Our Scholarship Program

Along with Alexis, this year we able to offer scholarships to other exceptional young talent including Anthony Capizzi and Chloe Leadabrand. Chloe recently shared with us how meaningful the opportunity was for her. We thought we would share it with you.

"The experience has been fantastic and I am amazed how my voice has changed after lessons with Jana at Little Prodigy. I am extremely grateful for my experiences with Artists for a Cause and thank you for all the time and effort you put into the program. Using the arts to make the world a better place reminds me what music and , my personal favorite, theater is all about. I performed and helped with last year's Hope for Freedom Benefit Concert and I was so moved by how helping through all our different art forms drew the performers from that night together.  I think I  speak for all of us when I say that the greatest thing in the world is to have our art become meaningful in a way that extends beyond our reach. I am looking forward to many more great experiences like this one." ~
Chloe Leadabrand

Thank YOU Chloe for helping us achieve our mission.

Therapeutic Arts Update

redheadcrop
Ginger Carslake has continued to work with several residents at the Lynmoore at Lawnwood helping them to create visual art in a therapeutic environment. She instructed them in water color and guided them creatively so they were able to benefit from the positive and healing effects of creating art.

She is now bringing the healing effects of creative art to the Grand Oaks of Jensen Beach the last Monday of each month at 1:30 p.m.  Thank you, Ginger!

A Moment from Jackie Robbins

Jackie r 2August 10-  Treasure Coast Hospice Care - Harpur House:
The patient sang on every tune I was playing for him. He'd name the songs or come up with requests after deciding what type of music he liked to hear. He physically responded to the music. He used his arms and body as if he had played drums for a living in reaction to what I was playing for him. To every tune he had a new emotional reaction and a happy statement about a memory associated.

For someone in a terminal situation it was a pleasure for me deliver some music and experience his ability to feel chipper. He showed me he could display his positive nature by enjoying the music as if it was truly therapy in the moment for him.

Brava Jackie!

Artists for a Cause supports artists who serve community needs.

logo

Artists for a Cause is a national nonprofit organization that supports artists who serve community needs. Some programs help artists and charities to get the most out of their collaboration, while most produce results directly, by feeding the poor, healing the sick, or solving other problems through unique artistic solutions. Additionally, we never ask artist professionals in a struggling industry to donate or give away their livelihood.  No program is merely about art for arts’ sake –
Artists for a Cause is about the arts as a solution.
