Therapeutic Arts Update Ginger Carslake has continued to work with several residents at the Lynmoore at Lawnwood helping them to create visual art in a therapeutic environment. She instructed them in water color and guided them creatively so they were able to benefit from the positive and healing effects of creating art. She is now bringing the healing effects of creative art to the Grand Oaks of Jensen Beach the last Monday of each month at 1:30 p.m. Thank you, Ginger! A Moment from Jackie Robbins The patient sang on every tune I was playing for him. He'd name the songs or come up with requests after deciding what type of music he liked to hear. He physically responded to the music. He used his arms and body as if he had played drums for a living in reaction to what I was playing for him. To every tune he had a new emotional reaction and a happy statement about a memory associated. For someone in a terminal situation it was a pleasure for me deliver some music and experience his ability to feel chipper. He showed me he could display his positive nature by enjoying the music as if it was truly therapy in the moment for him. Brava Jackie! Back to top | ||
