Salon Showcases The arts salon in St. Louis was fantastic!! Supported by the exceptional musicianship of Phillip Woodmoore, director of the vocal program at COCA, the first exceptional young artist showcase, “Salon Series” got off to an incredible start in February at the Kranzberg Arts Center studio. RhonniRose Mantilla and Ava Schmidt amazed our group of industry professionals and donors, singing solos and duets from a range of musicals. A highlight was RhonniRose’s performance of “Colored Women,” a piece with a moving social justice theme which was preceded by a short, eloquent speech given by alderwoman, Marlene Davis. Ava Schmidt had everyone in the palm of her hand with “In Short,” a funny piece from a modern musical. Special thanks to Terrance and Patricia Barber and Sqwires restaurant, as well as all of our those in attendance who supported the event. Mark your calendars! Our next salon in St. Louis is April 17 at the Kranzberg Arts Center. CLICK HERE FOR INFO The continuing series at Tim and Maureen Cotter's featured Emma Garner and Madeline Murray. Emma delivered a touching performance with "What it Means to Be a Friend", and Madeline had everyone laughing with "Daryl is a Boy". Thank you all for supporting the series and the development of young talent. If you or someone you know in either Martin County Florida or St. Louis City or County would be interested to host an event that could support the development of young artists that are actively involved with Artists for a Cause programs, please email Ashley@a4ac.org |
Mariner Sands Charity Week We are always so happy to be a part of Mariner Sands Charity Week. We are proud of the artists who have gotten involved this year, and pleased to have so many great friends to our organization here. Many members from our network, professionals and talented student performers, performed throughout the week. The Mariner Sands community deserves a special 'thank you' for all they do to help local non-profits. We hope you'll take a moment to read about all the wonderful things they are doing for our community! Therapeutic Arts Update From watercolor to live performances, we've been busy bringing joy and entertainment to those who can't easily get out to enjoy an art class or a live concert. We welcome Karin Leone to the Grand Oaks of Palm City, where she has been booked to perform monthly. We also thank Valerie Lally and Ginger Carslake for their continued work teaching watercolor classes to residents at assisted living communities. All program dates and services are listed at our website, A4AC.org. |
Artists for a Cause supports artists who serve community needs. Artists for a Cause is a national nonprofit organization that supports artists who serve community needs. Some programs help artists and charities to get the most out of their collaboration, while most produce results directly, by feeding the poor, healing the sick, or solving other problems through unique artistic solutions. Additionally, we never ask artist professionals in a struggling industry to donate or give away their livelihood. No program is merely about art for arts’ sake – Artists for a Cause is about the arts as a solution. |
